If I’m the buyer do I pay the realtor?

I’m buying my first place and my closing costs and down payment come out to 11k. Do I pay the realtor as the buyer or does the seller?

Unless you have specifically asked for seller to pay closing costs those are 100% buyer responsibility. Your closing costs include your down payment, realtor fees, escrow, taxes and fees, any prepaid property taxes, etc.

And yes, you give your down payment to  your realtor, or theirs at closing.
