This sounds selfish but…

Can I refuse/ request not to have a student or resident place my epidural? 🥲 I am in healthcare and have been a student myself, so I feel soooo guilty about this. I know they gotta learn. & I have let students do so many other procedures on me this pregnancy; vaccinations, pelvic exams, etc.

Like I said I was a student once. But also… I was a student once 🥴 so I know that mistakes happen. This is just something I really don’t want anyone but someone very experienced doing. Is that a request they can honor if I make it on my birth plan?

My whole birth experience has changed last min. They even switched my hospitals and I know next to nothing about this one. Didn’t do a tour, nada. I just know it’s new and nice supposedly, and it’s part of a medical campus so students will most likely be a big part of the experience. I’ve been told many times they don’t specifically tell you if it’s a student coming to do it idk how true that is. FTM
