Tips for getting a wide latch?

My 6 week old is getting a little lazy with latching. He doesn't always open his mouth wide enough. What tips help this?

I remember my nurse said that if my baby wasn’t opening up wide enough to not insert your nipple just yet but to pinch your nipple and hold it there until you see them finally open wide enough, then run in for it! Sometimes I did have to wait until she let out a loud cry and then I was able to put it in. Broke my heart but I knew if she didn’t open wide enough I would be in a lot of pain.

Squeeze breast in between fingers, or break the latch when it is not correct and let baby try again.
