Miscarriage ?

I had a miscarriage at the beginning of January. I’ve since passed my sweet 5 week old 💔 it took a week of bleeding to finally get done. My question is… would that week of my miscarriage have counted as a period? I really want to get right back into TTC but I’m a little confused as to the timing. My OB offered zero insight and only pushed me to go on BC. I was on depo for 8 years so I’m really not interested in BC at all.

Yes, it's a "period" and you will ovulate after, but don't be surprised if your cycle length is a little off for a while. My Dr asked me to use protection until I got my first period after my miscarriage, which I think was like 36 days at least. It took a few months for my cycles to get back to their regular length, which made it trickier to catch my ovulation. I'm sorry you're going through this ♥️

When I had mine last year,my Dr told me to count it as a period.

I bled off and on for a out 5 weeks after mine. It looked like it was done but things were still irregular and I still had hcg in my system.  I ovulated about 7 weeks after the miscarriage.   So it could count as a period for you but you never really know. Just depends on how your body heals.

Yes you can count as your period and you should ovulate again shortly after the bleeding finishes. I had a miscarriage and got pregnant again about 3 weeks after so I must have ovulated again about a week later.

I am so sorry for your loss! Yes, you’d consider that a period, but be advised, even thought it was an early loss, it could still take sometime for your cycle to return to a regular or “normal pattern”. It is stressful on the body physically and mentally having to go through a loss. May I ask why she was pushing for you to get on BC? Maybe entertain the idea of looking for another Doctor.

Sorry for your loss. ❤️ As far as tracking goes, yes, you can count that as your “period”. Since it was early you will likely ovulate on time, but don’t be surprised if this cycle is off and you ovulate a little late, or even a little early.
