Someone else gets to choose if we have children?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 10 months he had cancer last year so had sperm frozen. Since then we have had him tested and it's highly unlikely that we will conceive naturally. We have had to send information off to a panel of experts to see if we qualify for IVF on the nhs it's got my stomach all in knots. I'm pretty sure that's why this period is being late and irregular this month! Just wanted to vent a little bit thank you xxx
