My husband is an electrician and works out of town 95% of the time. The distance from home varies from project to project. They plan out a potential month in advance and then things are solidified a week before which job he will be on and where. Essentially if he gives about a week and a half notice he can change to a different job for a day or whatever to accommodate whatever we have going on in our lives.

Now to the reason I’m upset. We are expecting our 2nd and we have our gender ultrasound coming up in a few days. He doesn’t come to every appointment but he has promised he will be at the big ones with me. We haven’t really announced our pregnancy to anyone but I told him weeks ago that he needed to tell someone he works with so that when he needs to shuffle things for an appointment they will work with him. So now we’re literally minutes from our appointment and he just announced that not only has he not told anyone but he will be working a job even farther from town than normal and won’t be at this appointment because he didn’t give them enough notice to swap jobs and Y’all I’m freakin pissed!! I just told him fine - whatever. I’ll take our little man with us and he can find out first but seriously what the crap?! Just tell the foreman what’s going on you don’t have to announce to the whole company but then they can work something out! And now he’s upset with me for being upset with him. Am I wrong to be upset??
