We have been trying for a baby since August, finally got pregnant, and so far he has said he’s not ready and this..
But you were ready when you were unloading in me? What EVEN??

I feel like this isn’t a convo that should be had over text…. Y’all need to have a legitimate face to face discussion about your feeling. I think what he’s saying is valid though. Even if y’all were trying, when it actually happens reality kinda slaps you in the face and fun of trying to conceive is gone and then you enter into the “shit I got 9 months to get all this stuff done and then my life is going to change forever.” he’s allowed to feel how he wants to feel. He doesn’t need to be excited if that’s not how he feels. But again, this shouldn’t be talked about over text.

Sounds like he is just anxious about having a kiddo. I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary. I’d just reassure him. I wouldn’t attack him for feeling the way he does. He is entitled to feel how he feels. Attacking him over it may make him close up and be more hesitant to share his feelings in the future. I’d reassure him and not attack.

It’s different for men. My husband absolutely loves our kids to death, he also has a mini panic attack when he finds out I’m pregnant because of the pressure it puts on him to provide for another one. It doesn’t mean he won’t love your child, it means he’s stressed about it right now and needs some time to come around. Men are allowed to have emotions too

My SO wasn’t excited about it either. Men get nervous because most men really feel like they need to be the provider. So maybe when he’s alone and thinking about it, he’s being hard on himself and hoping that he can be that for you and this child. I feel like men don’t fully think things through until it’s “oh shit, it’s really real and it’s happening” lol. Just give him some time and don’t press the issue anymore. Let him have time to think about it. It has nothing to do with you, 100% his own feelings about becoming a father. He’ll come around!

I’m sure he’ll come to be excited. A lot of dads are scared and then love them endlessly. It’s like the fear fades. My dad did not want me AT ALL, he made excuses and never came to my moms appointments. But the day I was born he was over the moon for me and I was spoiled 😂☺️

He’ll come around, my boyfriend was the same way with our second and third baby. They weren’t planned but he was definitely going through all the motions while I was just excited. He came around though, we’re about to have our third in a few weeks and he’s super excited for her now that we have everything settled and situated. If he doesn’t come around it’s his loss🤷🏼‍♀️ babies are a blessing

His response makes me think you keep bringing the subject up. He is allowed to feel stressed, excited, scared, etc. His reasoning are valid. My husband and I both were so ready for a babu. Hints why we spent over $30,000 just to have one. But I know I personally still stressed about details that I knew we had taken care of.

Simply let him know. We’ll we were trying and now I’m pregnant and I’m excited so keep your negative thoughts to yourself. Maybe after you get pictures and stuff he’ll come around.
