How often to breastfeed one month old

Am

My baby just turned one month. He is EBF. His pediatrician said he shouldn’t go more than four hours between feedings at night. My understanding (with my first child) was we could stop waking baby once they’ve gained back their birthweight. My baby has already far surpassed his birthweight and has gained over 3 lbs in the first month. Do I really need to keep waking him?
