Baby measuring small?

I am 31+1 and today they told me baby is measuring 7 inches smaller than what he should be. They have been giving me weekly NSTs to monitor him, and said they aren’t concerned unless he completely stops growing, but I can’t help but think, isn’t 7 inches a lot to be behind? Has anyone had this happen and baby turn out ok? Thanks!

Honestly they said my daughter was small too and measuring quite far behind but she came out a perfect size (7,8)  at 41 weeks. Try not to worry as it’ll stress you as it did with me ❤️ you have a little while ahead, whether my daughter really was small and she suddenly grew or they just get these things wrong, I don’t know but try not to worry (which is hard) but as long as you and baby are healthy, that’s good

They could be right or they could be wrong.  They will probably induce you early if baby doesn't catch up. 
Lots of babies are born small and catch up within the first year. 
My 39 weekend was 5 pou ds 7 oz at birth and but the time shes 3 shell be bigger than other little girls her age. 
Try not to stress(I k ow its easier said than done)

I had fortnightly scans from 17 weeks with my most recent and they said he was so tiny he was almost delivered at 31 weeks via emergency c section (were also high risk for some other very serious reasons) but the week before I had him they estimated his weight was 4 pounds 5 ounces he was born 6 pound 8 ounces. The high risk team after told me that ultrasound is so unreliable for weight and measurements.
