Moved my induction date? Updated
I have cholestasis. I was scheduled to be induced at exactly 37 weeks this Sunday. Today a doctor called and said that she oversees all cases and she cannot recommend they induce me so early and pushed my date back an entire week. I’ve had this diagnosis for an entire month and this is the first time I’m hearing this. Has anyone heard of a cholestasis patient getting induced at 38 weeks? I’ve never seen the same doctor more than once (military healthcare🙄) and so far everyone has told me it’s pretty crucial to get my baby out by 37 weeks to prevent any further risk. I’m terrified and confused and not sure if I should seek ANOTHER opinion.
UPDATE: So I spoke to the nurses at my NST this morning and apparently my case was discussed along with other high risk cases amongst a whole board of doctors and since my bile levels are 19, anything less than 40 is apparently recommended to wait until 38 weeks for induction. And they absolutely will not budge on that verdict. I’m still a little uneasy but as long as my weekly tests show baby is happy and healthy I guess I can learn to trust that they have his best interest in mind🤞🏻
