When do you all plan to take Mat Leave

Hello everyone. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with gestational diabetes. I will most probably would induce in week 38. I would to know when do you guys planned or plan to take Mat leave. I am thinking of going off work in week 36 but then i am worried if the last weeks would be painful to work as well. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks all ❤️

Until my due date or until I have the baby is the plan. Work is getting tough but only a few weeks left. I find the weekends when I’m not working very hard because work atleast passes the time and takes my mind off of it.

I worked until a went into labor with my first born (now 2 years old). Plan to do the same this time. I don’t plan on returning to work though but still want to get paid as long as possible lol

Just depends if it would cut into time at home with baby. If you can take / afford to take extra 2 weeks I’d do it! If not up until work

I have 5 weeks vaca and will be off for 6 months. I plan to take the 2 weeks before my due date and return to work in September.

I'm going to presume that you're in the US..
In Ireland the latest you have to start your mat leave is the Monday week before your due date (I'm due March 2nd, so I HAVE TO start my leave latest on February 21).
The earliest you can start your leave is 16 weeks before. I think most of the people here wait until the end (2-ish week before due date) before starting, and if they can't work at the end of the pregnancy go out sick rather than taking mat leave early.
With my first I was taken off work 4 weeks before my mat leave started as my carpal tunnel syndrome got too bad for me to work. This time around I'm off anyway, as I'm just moving from my first mat leave to my second without going back to work in between 😅

I'm trying to take mine around the 18th of February I'm due March 4th but I have an induction date of Feb 28th so  take at least a week b4 . The main reason is to make sure all the laundry is done and baby stuff is ready and put together. I can't wait ! I'm so ready to be rested b4 baby gets Here well as much as I can with 4 kids at the house haha

It depends on where you are! I was in California with my first and there is a "use it or lose it" 4 weeks before your due date you can take (doesn't cut into your post-baby leave, and you can get more if you go overdue). I worked until 38 weeks, and then gave birth closer to 42, so I ended up with almost 4 weeks pre-baby. I was so worried I would be bored, but it was the best. I got so much rest, went on long walks everyday, and was able to get all my nesting out before becoming a mom. So zero regrets here. Of course it depends on your individual circumstances, but if you have the chance to take time off early, I'd consider doing it!

I am working until 36 weeks! I would suggest though that if going out early will cut into your time once baby arrives, try to work as long as possible. If not, take that extra time!
