Miscarriage questions

I had several positive pregnancy tests a couple weeks ago, even had a digital confirm, but I started heavily bleeding 2 days before I would have been 5 weeks. Seemed like the bleeding was just a little heavier than a normal period. Lasted about 6 days. Well today is day 12 and I just had some pink tinged discharge. Is that normal following miscarriage? Also, my OBGYN said to take a pregnancy test after two weeks and let her know results. Might it really be negative this soon after miscarriage?
