So I went out to dinner with my dad to a nice steak house at 26 weeks pregnant. Keep in mind that I’m showing a fair amount at this point, and wearing a sweater dress that shows off my bump. The waitress had to keep refilling my drink, because I drink a LOT of water now that I’m pregnant. Eventually my dad asked the waitress if we could have a pitcher, because it was a busy Saturday night, the glasses weren’t very big, and we were stopping her like every 4 minutes for refills. She looked at him confused and asked why we needed a whole pitcher of water. He goes “she’s pregnant so she drinks a lot of water”, and the waitress just makes this uncomfortable grimace, and has a really surprised expression and goes “… are you kidding?…”, and we’re like “no why would we lie?”. And she went kind of quiet, looks around in disbelief and then goes “ummmmm… I mean I guess I could get you one…”. And afterwards she didn’t even give us a pitcher, she just gave me a slightly larger cup, and then she switched with another waitress and didn’t serve our table for the rest of the night. It was just such a weird response. We were just trying to make it easier on her. Would anyone else be offended by that? Or am I just hormonal?? I felt so embarrassed, like she was judging me for being pregnant🤔
