It this fair?

Me and my boyfriend just moved in together and he expects me to pay half of everything everything calculated would come to 1946  in total I work full-time at Walmart he works full time for the city we live in and part time at a hotel he makes about 2500 a month and I make 1200 I'm also the one who does all the grocery shopping I also pay my car payment by myself even though we both use it I don't have a problem with helping pay some of our monthly expenses  but I don't think it's fair that I should pay half when he makes more money than me am I in over exaggerating or would you agree

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with 50/50. This should have all been cleared up before moving in together. Did you not discuss finances? 
If he wants everything 50/50, you don’t have to be a martyr. Have him cover half the groceries and car since he’s equally using both. Speak up.

50/50 is never appropriate if the couple’s income individual income cannot support it. You guys need to figure out a more sustainable plan. How can you possibly contribute more than you make?

This should have been discussed before you all moved in with one another however groceries toilet papers cleaning supplies all of that goes into the bills as well and should be divided 50-50 accordingly if that’s how he thinks things should be done. If he does not have a vehicle and shares yours that also goes into 50-50 bills as well as the car insurance.

He should be paying to use your car, part of your payment, and gas (and, technically more than that for routine maintenance). Why should he not have to pay for a part of the transportation he uses? He probably puts more time and miles on it, if he’s got two jobs. Break down his miles vs. yours, then calculate his payment and gas portion from that. He should be paying for half the groceries. And, I agree…how can you be expected to pay half, when you literally can’t afford half bc you don’t make enough.

He should contribute towards groceries, gas, and car payment and insurance. That would be equal. He makes more but he has two jobs and shouldnt be penalized because he works more than u. But him paying for his food and contributing to the car and maintenance makes sense.
