Colicky Baby?

How were you able to tell if your baby is colicky? I'm a first time mom and its frustrating to see my baby just 3 weeks old stiffen his body and make hurt faces and then throw up. It doesn't happen every feeding but it is concerning.  Sometimes he drinks too fast and most feedings I hear him clearing his throat between sucks but I'm not sure what to make of it. I told myself it's the way I hold him when I feed him or that I don't get all his burps out but I don't wanna limit my baby to my faults if there is somthing wrong. Any advice ?

I’ve had the same issues and when I spoke to the healthcare workers, they informed me that it could be due to mild reflux which can often happen as babies still don’t have fully developed muscles at the bottom of their food pipe.
You could try to hold the baby more upright during feeding and hold the bottle horizontal if bottle feeding. I also try to hold the baby upright for few minutes after feeding, before trying to burp as sometimes she would spit up during or after a burp.. If it persists or gets worse by 6w, I was asked to get her checked to make sure it’s nothing serious.

It could be an adverse reaction to something you're feeding him. 
If it's formula or breastmilk in a bottle it could be coming out too fast, you should be using the slowest flow nipples.
If you're breastfeeding you could have a really forceful letdown or his latch could be off, a lactation consultant can help with that. It could also be am adverse reaction to something in your diet if you're breastfeeding.
