Marijuana while pregnant ? Drug tests?

Hello moms ! I just want to hear y’all’s opinions and if there are any canna moms on here ! I used it for joint pain and anxiety plus sleeo before pregnant and want to know more info and if they drug test at any point pregnant

It is safe to use during pregnancy… safer than Tylenol. can guarantee anyone who says smoking weed is bad during pregnancy takes Tylenol for a headache. Or Zofran for nausea. Both have been linked to heart defects.. weed… not connected to a single thing!!

It all depends where you live.
Here in California, even though it’s legal recreationally, it’s not seen as safe during pregnancy and they test you at almost every appointment and if you test positive after birth, they can test your newborns stool and call cps to do case management with you and baby. Some midwives and doctors don’t care as much and won’t say anything, but most do care and don’t want you doing that. 
Other states aren’t as lenient and can try and take baby away. It just depends.

Depends on the state. I’m in Colorado where it’s legal recreationally. Some hospitals drug test when baby is born and some don’t. Mine only drug tests if they suspect drug use. I quit smoking early in pregnancy but do think it’s better than using Tylenol/Zofran and other medications that are linked to birth defects. If you stop smoking a month or two before both it should be out of both of your systems. In Colorado if baby does test positive CPS just follows up with you after you get home, but from what my friends have told me it’s no big deal.

Can’t comment on the safety of using it during pregnancy but I’m in Cali and they have drug tested me at every appt with my last 3 babies. I was never told I was being drug tested but my online account shows me all tests being done and the results

I would ask your doctor. 
It has just become legal where I live & it still isn’t recommended during pregnancy. They haven’t really done enough research to know if it’s actually safe or not. I know at my office specifically they test you at your first appointment & will continue to test you at every appointment following if you have a positive drug result. & then when it comes to giving birth, if you have it in your system they will test your baby for drugs & if your baby tests positive then CPS gets involved. I’m sure every state is different, I know doctors offices are different as well.. the only legitimate answer you will get is from asking your own doctor.

I’m in Michigan and it is legal but it’s not safe to use during pregnancy and they so drug test every appointment and will test baby when they are born. If they are born with it in their system they will be taken

I use to smoke A LOT of weed before my husband and I decided to start trying for a baby. I stopped cold turkey. I am from Canada where it is legal country wide but not seen as suitable for pregnancy or breastfeeding. 
100% you can get your baby high in your belly and while breastfeeding, look it up. I'm all for weed, not against you at all but this is factual. It not only effects your lungs which can affect blood flow to the fetus but also affect brain development (as with any youth under the age of 21) but even more so for a fetus. 
In Canada you will be drug tested at birth, same with almost all states and CPS/CAS will be notified it is up to them if they make a case or investigation about it. 
I say this as an avid weed smoker (not currently) smoking weed is an adult decision  which is YOURS but your baby has no say at all. Take this information as you wish, I only shared this knowledge with you for educational purposes.
Yes I am aware some women do choose to smoke weed while pregnant (my mother did) and the children come out fine that is not always the case.  
I will probably smoke weed when I decide to stop breastfeeding cause it helps with my anxiety and I get it weed it great (for responsible adults!)

here in PA it is legal if u have ur card state wide but not federal. so no matter what when they find out they drug test mom. will take stool or urine or both from infant bc it still transfers to ur baby in utero and while breastfeeding essentially getting your baby high. though after delivery as a pp rn I've never seen an infant withdrawal from MJ. Now cys has to be called due to it being a federal law but they come in usually take a copy of the mother's card and that's that. so it depends where you live.

I’m in Maryland and they did a drug screen with my first set of blood work urine tests. I recently switched and they take a urine test at every apt but don’t know what all they test for.

I’m in Colorado the hospital I had my first two pregnancies in didn’t do drug test(didn’t matter to me) but this pregnancy they are starting to do drug test because there is a high meth rate with woman and woman giving birth to meth addicted babies. They did ask me my permission to send out one for drug test I said not problem. But again they definitely are at my hospital as of recently. I did mention to my midwife I smoked before I got pregnant and she told me marijuana was the least of their worries and they aren’t worried about that at all. Again think they are more worried about meth. But I also know a girl who had weed in her system when baby was born they just gave her a form about weed and cos follow up but that was all. So think depends on the hospital here in Colorado like a previous comment says.
