Day before period

I took a test yesterday and it was negative. Today is the day before my expected period, and i’m having back cramps, side cramps, headache and heavy discharge. Is that normal? We did the baby dance two times during my fertile window so we’re hoping i’m pregnant. but that negative test yesterday has me thinking otherwise. This will be our second baby, with the first we didn’t try it happened after one time, now we’re in cycle 2 of trying and i’m getting a little discouraged.
