It’s so hard to know! It could be hives, but like the other commenter said it could be a viral rash. And even though you didn’t feed them anything new for dinner, it doesn’t rule out a food allergy. My son is allergic to dairy and eggs and he broke out in hives after eating things that I had been feeding him for months. Usually if it’s a food allergy they’ll react fairly quickly after eating though (like within half and hour), so if the baby was fine last night but has the rash now it could be something else. Either way, take them to the doctor to be on the safe side.
