Just a vent

I’m confused as to why people get annoyed or frustrated when they’re watching your kid(s) and you tell them how to do something (like how to feed them, etc.) and they’re like “I know I’ve done this before” meaning they’ve had kids before. Or they give advice like, my personal example I was talking about teething with my husbands grandmother and she told me they use to rub vodka on their gums and I said I don’t think I’m going to do that and she snaps back with “why? Everyone did it back then and we’re all just fine.”

Every kid/baby is different and just because you did it one way before doesn’t mean everyone is going to do it that way. Some people can’t. I have to feed my baby a certain way or else he’ll choke on his milk (he tries to drink too much too fast so we have to pace him.) Don’t get me wrong I’m very grateful to have the help but my child’s safety comes first. And maybe I’m being anal but that’s how i do things in my house🤷‍♀️
