Is 19 weeks too early to start shopping for baby ?

I’m currently 19weeks & 4 days pregnant, I’m a slim person and this is my first pregnancy so I don’t look it at all I barely have any belly the only way you can tell is if you personally knew me before I was pregnant because then my tummy was really flat now I just look like I ate too much food moving on… went to check out some baby stores just to see what they have, so I can compare prices while I put together my list, I decided to do this so I’ll know what we’ll actually be buying from the stores and what we’ll be ordering from Amazon.

My next ultrasound is 2 weeks away and hopefully🤞 then I’ll get to find out sex of my baby and hopefully by next month I’ll actually go and start buying some stuff for the baby. One of the stores I went in the lady who works there asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I told her no please just looking around eventually she came over and started talking to me, she asked me when is my due date and I told her July 2nd and she said “Ohhh you still have a lot of time don’t you think it’s too early for this?” So I told her well I’m not actually buying anything right now I’m just looking around but I’ll be back in a few weeks to start shopping and she said “well it’s too early to be looking at baby stuff you should wait until you’re further along cause anything can happen at this point plus you’re not even showing yet” then she walked away.

At this point I kinda felt a way and maybe it’s just my hormones but I felt down so I just told her and the next lady who works there to have a nice day and I left the store, got in car and came home I didn’t even bother to go to other stores.

I’m a bit confused at this point because I’ve had a few people who knows how far along I am kept asking me and hubby why haven’t we started buying stuff yet.

And it’s starting to hurt my feelings when people say anything about my tummy size, last week I went to my GP and when she saw me the first she said “is there a baby in there? Cause you have no tummy at all” then on Saturday I went to lunch and I ran into a lady I know and she said I thought you were pregnant and I said yes I am, I’m 19 weeks today actually she then asked me if I was sure because when her daughter was pregnant at 19 weeks her belly was clearly showing.. stuff like that is starting to get my nerves🙄
