What day do meds start?

What day of the cycle do the meds start? Our tentative start date for IVF is April 4th but so far we haven’t gotten any further info on timeline of events so what exactly will be starting on April 4th so you think? (We will obviously know when they tell us but just wondering a general timeline of events)

You should ask your coordinator to provide you with a sample calendar for your specific protocol. Typically, you’ll call on the 1st day of your cycle and to schedule cycle day 3 bloods. If those look good, you typically start your injections (your “stims”) that day. There are different injections they might use in different combinations and different dosages depending upon your specific protocol. While you’re “stimming” (for 10ish days give or take a few), they’ll be monitoring your bloods and ultrasounds every few days till you’re ready for your next step. When you’re ready (determined by your monitoring), they’ll have you trigger with an HCG shot a specific amount of hours before your retrieval (I believe it’s about 36, but it’s been a couple years since my last retrieval). Then, you go for your retrieval! This is just a rough outline of what goes on during a retrieval cycle using my personalized protocol. If you’re doing a fresh transfer, your next instructions will be different from those if you’re to do a frozen one. Good luck!
