Labor induction post covid

So my doctor told me today that he’d like to induce me during my 39th week to avoid going over 40 weeks. His reasoning was that there have been several cases of women experiencing fetal death after 40 weeks if they were diagnosed with covid during their pregnancy. He said something about the virus potentially affecting the placenta late in pregnancy and causing the death. There are so many uncertainties that he doesn’t even want to take that chance (especially because I just had it 2 weeks ago at 34 weeks). I have 3 more weekly appts and a NST at each one.

Has anyone else gone through something similar or know someone who has?? I went to 40w4d with my daughter and everything happened on it own (my water broke, then contractions and 4.5 hours later she was here). So idk. I’m just nervous about an induction because I hear the labor is much harder than all of it happening on baby’s terms.

EDIT: I am going with my doctors recommendation with the induction because I will not chance a stillborn— I’d go through any/everything for her. I mainly just wanted to hear from other mamas who have been through a similar experience or are also on a similar journey!

Thank you all so much for responding thus far ❤️❤️
