First time mum.. does it ever get easier..??

My son is now 7 weeks. I am really finding motherhood full on, tiring and a on constant loop. My son is always fussing, can never be put down, has really bad reflux, constipation and colic. Just feels like it’s the hardest thing I have ever done. Whenever he sleeps not on my arms for any small amount of time I run to do chores, try to eat, go to the bathroom ect feels like I’m on a timer. Will this ever get easier?

It gets easier! First 3-6 months are rough and then it starts getting easier. I personally hate the new born stage

It certainly does get easier. You and your baby are still getting to know each other and your baby is still so new to life outside the womb. You will find things go in waves, you'll have a good few days or weeks then a few not so good days/weeks. Your baby is always changing and it can be tough but you've got this! Trust your instincts and never be afraid to ask for help when you need it (partner, friend, family, neighbour or doctor)

Yes!! For sure there is a light at the end of the tunnel. At 8 weeks everything starts getting easier. More sleep. Colic starts going away. It’ll get so much better, there are very bright days ahead for you. It was hard for me to bond w my son before 8 weeks bc I was so tired & stressed. Now he’s 5 mos & the absolute light of my life, I can’t wait to get out of bed in the morning & see his beautiful face in the crib.

Yes it does! I actually found after 7 weeks she was sleeping better at night. I had a really tough first few weeks with my bubs, I was still in a lot of pain from the birth and I had a really hard breastfeeding journey. I had the baby blues, and would cry constantly. I was also super anxious about leaving the house as there’s so much to pack that I would just stay home in the dark lol. My partner would say “enjoy this time” as I cried and winced when she would feed. I wondered if I had made a mistake as it was so hard. It does get better! And you do get those moments to enjoy, so don’t feel bad if you’re unhappy right now. You’re doing amazing!! The first few weeks are basically just survival. Make sure you fuel yourself. You got this!! Xx

Is your babe on any reflux medications? Has your doctor approved elevating the crib while sleeping? Inform your doctor and see what options there are!! My girl has reflux, colic, and cmpa. We are almost to the 12 week mark and things are getting better as I have strongly advocated for her for many weeks. We got help and things have started looking up finally ❤️❤️ best of luck!!

I was really struggling up until 6 months. Now I’m starting to feel more like myself and baby is easier to occupy so I can have a moment to myself here and there. It’s getting easier.

It gets so much easier. The first 12-16 weeks are the hardest - go easy on yourself, be patient with yourself and just take each day as it comes.
