UTI from new partner

I’ve started having sex with a new partner. The first time we did it I got a really bad uti I was on meds 4 times a day for a week. I finally got rid of it we do it again and I got another uti. Idk if he’s not cleaning well enough but something about his penis is irritating me and idk what to do about it. I told him about the uti’s and I can tell he’s a little embarrassed and I’m not sure what to do about it; we could use condoms for a little but moving forward should I tell him he needs to wash better or what? How can I fix this and how can I tell him in a way that doesn’t make him feel bad
