Extremely Irregular Period

Since December I have been getting my period twice a month (see calendar). First it started as large, bright red blood clots released once a day around ovulation (see pictures). Because of this I thought it was just ovulation bleeding (still possible that it was). At this point, I have been getting 2 full periods for 7-9 days twice a month, with only 5-9 days between each flow.

I’m scheduled to see my gyno on March 22nd and i’m going to mention my concerns to her and possibly get a pap smear (since i’m 21 now). In the past I was diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease which was treated and an ovarian cyst that went away untreated. I also have anemia which is odd considering the amount I have been bleeding.

I’ve done *some* research an the only explanation I have is an overactive thyroid. Does anyone else have any ideas?
