Who is feeling the same way? Gender dissappintment

I absolutely HATE how I feel. Having our second of the same gender and disappointment is real. I am so jealous of friends/family who all seem to be getting exactly what they wanted. I know I shouldn’t feel this way
Any tips/advice on how to cope with these feelings?

I definitely experienced this. I have always wanted a little girl like forever and ever!!! My husband really wanted a girl as well. And it’s a boy! For some reason I was convinced it was a girl and didn’t want to think anything else. Also I’ve been trying to conceive for 15 years and this will be my only child because I’m getting close to 40 and I have significant health issues including cancer that has to be treated after the pregnancy. So basically I won’t be getting my girl. I really am grateful just to be pregnant because it was a hard journey to get here and now I’m totally in love with my baby boy already but it was a hard adjustment accepting the fact that it was not a girl. I would recommend to anyone not to get your head around any one gender and pick out both girl and boy names and think about things you can’t wait to do with either especially if you know inside that you have always wanted one or the other. It only took me a week or two and we named our boy and went out and got some cute little boy clothes, and now we are really just over the moon!! I’m grateful that he’s healthy and I love him. 
I’m sure that you will get over it quickly like I did. A lot of people experience gender disappointment so don’t feel bad, but everyone seems to agree those feelings go away and you fall in love with the baby inside you especially when you see their cute little chunky face for the first time. A kid is a kid and it really doesn’t make much difference. Girls can be tomboys that want to pay baseball with Dad and boys can be mamas boys and Mama‘s best friend. Now I don’t know why I ever got myself so caught up in wanting one or the other !

Not this time around but with my first, I did. We wanted a girl so bad but got a boy instead. To try to get out of the “disappointment” stage, I looked up “gendered” nursery ideas, started coming up with names, etc.

I have felt this 3 times. I’m finally pregnant with the gender I wanted but I legit broke down crying with my youngest son because I thought we were done at 3 and I never got a girl that I always wanted. Then a oops happened and she’s a girl lol

I’m on my second girl wi to this pregnancy and I DEFINITELY see the disappointment in my husbands eyes … as soon as I found out girl , my mind went to a dark place.. I genuinely thought “what if he cheats and the other girl gets pregnant with a boy”…. My husband has no history of cheating… it was a dark thought and I hate I had it… I think my daughter having a sister is best for her though

I’m pregnant with my 3rd girl and last baby. I def had some gender disappointment knowing this is our last meaning I’d never get the chance to have a son. But then I look at my two girls and they are the absolute best of friends and I look at my husband and his brother who are best friends and I look at me and my sister who are best friends and I think of how lucky my girls will be to hopefully have that bond

Gender norms are stupid imo, but I’ll admit that I cried when I found out that my first was girl. I think I was panicking about the challenges she might face in life as a woman because I was deflecting the trauma of my own challenges onto what her life might hypothetically be like. You’re not wrong for feeling ANYTHING ever. Open up to someone you trust, be it family, friend, therapist or stranger, and force yourself into a focus on the positive. Everything will be wonderful enough to outweigh any negative ❤️
