Thankful for modern medicine (TW: illness)

I know 'natural' births are the most desired, and I would have deeply loved to have gone down the hypnobirthing/pool route, but due to Pre-E that wasn't to be the case. I beat myself up for the LONGEST time about not doing it properly.. but I was having a chat with my friends the other day, and we came to a scary conclusion- without modern medicine only ONE of us would have survived pregnancy and childbirth.

Out of the 6 of us:

- emergency C-section- baby stuck (both would have died)

- severe Pre- E (most likely both of us!)

- severe post birth hemorage (mum)

- retained placenta (mum)

- gestational diabetic (baby likely to grow too big, potentially death) but induced early..

Just feeling grateful that we are all still here!
