Is it ok to take a quick shower after ur water bag breaks?

Like say ur home and ur water bag breaks.. can u take a quick shower ? Cuz i dont wanna smell “down there “when i give birth😭😪…. Or go to the hospital….  Any of you did this? Or didnt shower but did another method to smell good down there??!!!!?

You can shower but not immerse or use soap. But a ton of fluid, mucus, and other lovely things are gonna keep coming out of you until baby comes out...it's not like your water breaks and thats it, you keep leaking and discharging during labor, so trying to be clean 'down there' aint gonna happen lol

You can take a quick shower, however it’s not going to smell that great when your pushing the baby out. I usually get a shower right after birth.

A lot of women poop as they push. Plus, you sweat and you bleed along with all the other “stuff” that comes out. It’s not going to smell good lol. And guess what? None of your healthcare team cares. At all. And they wear masks. You can absolutely take a shower if you want (FYI a good number of women don’t break their water in early labor at home, so don’t expect that to necessarily happen like it does in the movies either), but it’s probably not going to change anything.

Just keeping up with your normal hygiene is enough. You don't need to do anything special or add fragrances to your vaginal area.  Like others have said when you're in labor or your water breaks there is nothing you can do to mask the 'odor'  There's nothing that makes blood or poop smell better lol You'll have more important things to worry about when you get to the point of having the medical team in your crotch.

I did and it was fine! I thought I had to get to the hospital really fast so it was definitely a quick shower but when I got to the hospital, I was only half a cm dilated 😂 I would say check with your dr, but you should have enough time!

I showered before the hospital because I was induced so my water broke there and there wasnt any smell and they said I pooped when pushing lol but I didn't even know. I don't think it matters
