Gave a me a snoo bassinet and wants it back ?

So somebody purchased a gift for baby  ( Snoo bassinet)& It was delivered to my house since I’m having a virtual shower next weekend &y best friend who purchased  Texted me to give the gift back because she has to purchase a gift for another friend for her baby shower and doesn’t have time to go buy something for her  & then she would give me mine. Her reason has nothing to do with money it’s purely to regift What should I do should I give it back or keep it ?

I personally would give it back but it’s incredibly tacky and weird for someone to ask for a gift back.

To me it’s not the fact of how much a gift cost, I would be soooo hurt if a friend gave me a gift and then not only asked for it back but told me it’s because they wanted to give it to someone else. I’d give it back and possibly rethink the friendship 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it’s up to you. Personally, as much as I would appreciate a snoo, I would give it back since it is a expensive gift and if she said she need it for another purpose then so be it. 
Doesn’t put her in a great light that she would gift something just to regift it. But a gift is not worth hurting a friendship imo.
If I really want to keep it, I would express that to her too and let her make the call… but that’s just me.

She wants to give this other person the snoo bc she doesn’t have time to get something and then buy you another snoo? Or just a different gift? The snoo did not work for my 1st baby so I’d give it back. It’s either great or its not. 😊

I mean if it’s my best friend then she’s probably asking because like you said she doesn’t have time to get a gift and knows I would understand. I wouldn’t care if she gave me a gift late (after my shower) so I would just give it to her to help her save face at the other shower 🤷🏽‍♀️ I mean that’s what friends are for right? Sometimes I ask my best friend if she can just throw my name on a gift for someone if we are going to the same place and I didn’t have time to get a gift…..

I’d give it back.  Since you mentioned she’s your best friend, she probably feels comfortable to ask this of you (where she may not have asked someone else).  I would probably make a joke about it, then leave it be.  I don’t think it would be worth potentially making it more awkward or hurting your friendship by saying no.  However, if this is a typical occurrence….then, maybe something to consider within your friendship.

i would give it back just because i would be hurt she is taking something she gifted you and giving it to someone else it means she didnt put much thought into your gift its not special in her eyes she would no longer be my friend
