The MIL post I made

I made a post about my MIL birthday today and how I didn’t remind my husband to say happy birthday.

I don’t think I explained the situation in the right way..

You see , this woman (my husbands mother) use to be the mom I looked up to, aspired to be even.

The first two years of my relationship with my husband I spent almost all my time at their home I also lived with them for five months until we found our first apartment.

Everything was great our relationship was great the family dynamic was fun everything seemed to be okay until we got our apartment.

Today we told her we were moving out she reacted in a very negative way. She was not supportive she started crying made the whole day about her. And I was sympathetic to that I even apologized for making her feel like I was taking her son away because I felt so bad for her.

Shortly after I got pregnant with our daughter and things went downhill. I had Hyperemesis gravidarum while I was present which made me very sick. She continued to belittle me behind my back to everyone we knew, saying that I was dramatic and every woman gets pregnant it’s not that bad.

One day she was so disrespectful towards while I was 8 month pregnant, so I screamed at her and told her she has no right to treat me the way shes been doing. She even tried to stop us from leaving her house because she wasn’t done scolding me.

Later that day she called me and ‘apologized’ .

Since then I’ve never looked at her the same, and as the years pass she’s just gotten more and more passive aggressive.

So this year I did NOT remind my husband to get her a gift, or even say happy birthday . Because why would I do something nice to someone that treats me so poorly ?

Please let me know your opinion on this, and let me know if I’m a bitch lol
