Is it ok to use the same name for your baby as a cousin did for theirs

I have a cousin who (other than saying 2 qords to at his sister's wedding) I haven't seen in about 20 years since we live several hours apart and were never close to begin with. They just had a baby boy and selected a name off of mine and my partner's short list. I was telling my mother that I took the name off our list and she said don't be silly and that I should still consider it for our girl. That got me wondering: what does everyone else think? I only found out about their name choice because another cousin of mine has them on facebook and told me when we were discussing names.
