Best product for ear pressure

Question

We are taking our first family vacay in 2 weeks. We are taking a 5 hour flight. I need help and advice. Ive seen people say I can nurse the baby during lift off and landing to avoid ear pressure issues but I also want to get plugs for my 8 month old. Can anyone give me advice? Also, Im not sure when I should start nursing the baby after lift off and before landing...? I havent been able to find specific information in when to start. Any and all help/advice is much appreciated!!
Also, let me know what were your must haves for traveling with your infant.

We have headphone like this for my daughter for loud events, she was able to sleep through a cannon going off while wearing them this past summer when we were visiting an old fort. You can nurse or use a pacifier or bottle starting just as the plane takes off and you start feeling the pressure in your own ears, and the same for landing start when you feel the pressure starting to change in your ears. I know years ago our doctor recommended dimetapp for my brother for take off and landing so you can check with you pediatrician if they reccomend something similar like zyrtec.

I never nursed as our baby has always been in his car seat for flights. I do give a bottle. I basically start as soon as we start taking off so he drinks for the first few minutes as we ascend. On the flip side, I do a bottle as soon as my ears start to have pressure on the descent and let him finish it while we taxi in. If you’re talking about noise cancelling headphones, we have been happy with babybanz. I wouldn’t use earplugs on a baby.
