Am I wrong for not wanting to give my mom anymore money?
I'm 12 weeks pregnant, almost 13. My husband and I have started buying things for the baby since I gave all my baby things away to my sister who's having her baby in a week. Also so that we could spread out the expenses. I'm currently working at Amazon and have been put on leave due to some vaginal bleeding early in my pregnancy and restrictions from my doctor (not to lift more than 25 lbs, etc.) My job still pays me 60% of my income but I have family insurance through my job, so they take about half of that income every week. The problem is with my Mother. I was paying her to watch my daughter while I went to work until my husband got off to go pick her up. Since I've been on leave my mom is insistent that I still need to pay her, even though she does not watch my daughter anymore, and bugs me about 'if I'm going to pay her this week or not'. She isn't working and my Step dad, who works, trys to pay as little of the bills as possible and complains about paying them. I've recently found out that I'm having a boy, and so I have to buy the majority of things all over again since, again, they were given to my sister and we've only had girls in the family thus far. When I talk to my mom about keeping my money in order to buy the things necessary she tells me that I need to get a part time job and the boy can just wear all the the baby girl clothes. Anything so that she'll keep receiving money from me. I don't mind helping my mom but the amount of money she was receiving from me leaves me with $48 to my name a week, and since I can't go back to my job at the warehouse I'm not making more at the moment. I have applied for part time jobs but my husband and I have discussed about me staying home with our daughter since he has before and can pay the bills himself and I can use my money to get the baby things. Am I wrong for not wanting to give my mom anymore money?
