What to do about these floors?

Im a single mom and recently moved into our own space.
However the floors are cementy-ish like this… i dont want my son to get hurt especially since hes a toddler and throws his head back alot when having a tantrum
Hes done it a couple times and cried a little but thats it
I guess its almost sort of equivalent to falling on cement outside, no?
I live in an apartment btw so cant do much.. rental
Ive put some carpets down but its a pretty large space and I can only put so many carpets..

My child just had to learn the lesson 🤷‍♀️ now he runs to the couch or carpet or dog bed for his dramatics 😆

There is nothing you can do as far as changing the floors to planking or carpet as it’s an apartment you rent and you do not own the property. So honestly you are doing all you can, just find thick, soft rugs you can put down and maybe consider a gate section so your child is restricted to a certain area.

There are foam pieces that have designs to look like flooring. They’re like the foam click together mats for like an at home gym but now they make them have nice patterns. I’m sure Amazon has them

There’s not much you can really do except pad the floor but that’s not really likely. My youngest used to throw bad tantrums. We had tile floors. He hit his head A LOT because he’d throw himself down. He finally started to throw himself down gently when he would throw a fit so he wouldn’t hit his head.
