Is 10 weeks too early to hear the baby’s heart beat with a Doppler?

It's not too early. The heart starts beating around 6 wks. It'll just be difficult to find because baby is so small and moving around so much. My OBs office won't even let you hear it until 12 wks. We get to see it at our 8 wk dating/viability scan, but they won't use the Doppler until 12 wks and even then they tell you every time it may be hard to find until like 20 wks. Because you're chasing small baby around in a big space. Shoot even after that. The last 7 wks of pregnancy with my daughter I was doing twice weekly NSTs and once a week AFIs and she was always moving during the NSTs. We constantly had to chase her around with the monitor to get a good read on her heartbeat.

they couldn’t find me that early with a doppler but i also have anterior placenta. they told me it’s very common since baby is still small.
