My nephew has been showering by himself since he was 3/4. We obviously help him clean himself but then leave him in the shower to play. He usually sits down and plays with his toys and we keep an ear out for him. He’s always been a pretty mellow kid. I think it 100% depends on the kid.

My daughter around 2-3 would get a shower, but where I lived at the time the shower was in an open plan en-suite so I sat on the bed and let her have her independence but I was still there ready to help if she needed. ❤️

My niece is 6 and we are just starting to leave her for a few minutes. She still largely needs help showering so someone is in with her, but she’s okay being alone.

My daughter is 5 and I let her while I get her clothes out and then go back and sit on the toilet. She washes her body herself but I just sit there until I do shampoo and conditioner

It depends on the maturity level, but I have a 6 year old that I don’t leave unsupervised for bath times yet and he’s mature. 
If he really wanted to take showers independently then it’s possible I would let him while I check every couple minutes. No way I’d go more than that without making sure he didn’t slip or need something.

My very calm rule followed of a nephew was 5 when he could be loosely watched while showering.
His brother is 3.5 years old and is the complete opposite temperament. I don’t foresee this happening until 6 or 7.

My almost 6 year old has very clear rules (No jumping, fast moving, etc) and I’ll leave him alone for a moment to get his pjs and bed ready…a few steps away
