Families of 4, how much do you spend on groceries weekly?

Including toiletries and cleaners, like toothpaste and Clorox wipes. 
I can’t seem to make it weekly in under $200. I meal plan everything, I don’t buy any expensive brands and tend to only buy store brand. But it’s almost always around $200-250! 😔 My husband keeps fussing that I spend too much, so I don’t even buy myself food anymore and just eat my kid’s leftovers or like a PB&J.

Does your husband realize that we are dealing with inflation?? I think what you are spending is typical for that family size. We try to purchase bulk items like toilet paper, paper towels, peanut butter, laundry detergent and some cleaning supplies at Sam's or Costco. Have you looked at using grocery apps like Ibotta, Fetch, Checkout 51, etc?? They help you make back some of the money you spend on certain items.

I can’t keep it under $200 no matter how hard I try, and it’s only my daughter and I (well and 1 dog)🤷‍♀️ Fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables are very expensive, especially right now! Tell him to do the shopping and cooking for a week and see how much better he does 🙄

We are a family of five. My boys are 5, 3, and almost 2. We also have a cat and a 100+ lb dog. Groceries (including the pet supplies) are usually usually between $250 and $300 a week. Things like toilet paper, laundry detergent, cat litter, dog food and a few other expensive things that we normally only have to buy every 2-4 weeks can push the bill up to $400 if we happen to run out of multiple of those things at the same time but we usually don't. Our bill has gone up about $100 since the inflation has gone up. It's hard to cut back when you're not buying excessively or buying name brand. Believe me, I have been there. I tried to scale it back recently because we are already spending $300 a week on therapies for two of my kids but it was nearly impossible to scale back the list.
