Ultrasound for infertility?

Hi ladies!

I'm on month 4 of TTC and my periods have been super irregular (50-60 days per cycle). My OBGYN wants me to come in for an ultrasound next month to make sure everything's ok in there. Anyone else had an ultrasound for infertility? Is it pretty common as a first step? I'm curious about what they can find out from it.

I did when I went in for infertility testing.  I had blood work first which showed that I could potentially have PCOS so she said the ultrasound could confirm that. Turns out I do not have PCOS but I do have a calcification on one of my ovaries. I still ovulate from that side as they saw a almost mature follicle on that ovary. I ended up concieving shortly after that because the ultrasound tech told me I would ovulate soon! It was over a 50 day cycle and now I have a beautiful 1 year old girl!

I had the internal ultrasound because i was irregular for a month, had been over 70 days. Was really surprised to find out i had ovulated etc.. They thought i may have had a blockage or something in my tube. You'll be fine :) but good luck

I saw my OBGYN on Thursday and was also scheduled for a vaginal ultrasound for January 13th. They want to assess for PCOS. I haven't been getting a period since getting off birth control this past January. So he wants to take a look at my ovaries.

Yes I had my scan done on Thursday to check the ovaries and womb etc. Also had bloods done day I seen the gynecology and some swobs taken too. Then bloods tests on cycle 2-4 days and again on cycle day 21

I will be having an ultrasound soon. Seems to be one of the first steps, along with blood work and sperm analysis
