Did you experience painful cramping in the first month with IUD?

I'm trying to figure out if this god awful uterine cramping is normal or if I should be removing the IUD promptly. I've been spotting for 2 weeks now and had the worst abdominal pain/uterine spasms I've ever experienced.. Ladies please share your stories about adjusting to the IUD!!

I've had my MIRENA IUD for about 3 months now and my first month was horrible too. I would get cramps that were worse than my period cramps. This would happen on and off for 3 weeks or so. I only bled the first week and a half or so but then I would have a brown discharge.  My doctor said that it was normal. After about the first month and a half things should go back to normal. And when it's time to start your period. You will have intense cramps leading up to it. But once you start  they will go away

Thanks for sharing.. I've been having the worst crampy pain of my life.. Even to the point my legs and feet hurt, but then it goes away and I'm fine for a couple days. I'm assuming this is just an adjustment period and it will get better.. I hope.. Good luck with your Mirena IUD :-)
