So frustrating

I cannot believe I’m having an argument with my husband over getting my son some birthday presents for his 6th birthday but here I am 🤦🏻‍♀️ He just assumes things. I think a few nice gifts & a couple small ones is ok but he of course would tell me to only get him 1 or 2 cheap ass presents. I’m so sick of him arguing with me over money, it’s ridiculous. I hardly ever spend money & when I do, it’s for our kids. He has no idea how many women are with spending money & always wanting to eat out. Drinks etc. He’s lucky to have a wife who doesn’t demand this & that or go on spending sprees. My God, when we 1st started dating, he took me to eat twice in the first 4 months. That’s it & they were cheap meals. $20 worth. I don’t care how much he spent, but it would’ve been nice to be romanced & taken out a little more. He’d make me wait hours till he came over so he could cook his dinner, wait an hour then go work out for 2 hours. Then I’d get the last bit of his night. He never even cooked for me except 1 time when I asked him to for Valentines Day instead of going out. He pretty much never took me out. Big red flag was when I asked to see a movie one night (only time I ever asked) & he even had a membership so it was already paid for. He just assumed I’d want popcorn & said no. Even if I did, like wow I’m so sorry that’s too much for you to take me on a date! I’m his first relationship though so he literally doesn’t have a clue. Took me for granted so much. I know what we can spend & if something is (or totals) $50 or over, I’ll talk to him about it first. They have all outgrown most of their clothes & need new clothes but of course he’s cheap about that too. I cannot stand being with a cheap man. Biggest turnoff! There’s a difference between budgeting & just plain cheap. I know the difference. Man when you see the red flags, listen. I should have.
