I tried for my son for 2.5 years and I gave up, and one month my mom wanted to sit in the hot tub and for me hot water made my period come, and this was on the day I was supposed to get my period so I didn't go in. Everyday for a week my mom would ask have you started your period yet, of course my answer was no. ( keep in mind my mom knew i was trying for a long time and gave up on it ) so she took my to get a pregnancy test from the shoppers by my house... Magically my fiancé got him as soon as I was ready to take the test, I sat it on the counter and told him I can't watch it because I didn't want to get hurt again. ( trying for so long and being told it would never happen hurt ) I was laying against the tub scared for a no, really hoping for a yes. then after about 4 minutes my fiancé went silent and all of a sudden a HOLY SHIT came out of his mouth and said you have to see this... I thought he was trying to play a joke on me, so I got up looked at the test and it had those 2 beautiful lines on the test, I started crying. It's finally happened for me. Now I'm onto pregnancy number 3, baby number 2.
