he has ulcerative colitis/crohns since like 2015 so he’s had 2 colonoscopies in the past but it’s been a few years. i think since we been under alot of stress lately he is worried and paranoid when he goes for his 3rd on tuesday he won’t wake up. i want to comfort him him in some way because he’s just worried about it. any words of advice i could say to calm his nerves ?

I would just tell him that while there’s always a risk with going under anesthesia, there are so many medical professionals there to make sure everything goes right! I’m saying this as someone who’s had 6+ colonoscopies (ulcerative colitis) over the years. I’ve literally lost count of how many. The professional providing the anesthesia’s literal job is to make sure he is okay throughout the procedure and that he wakes up. He will meet this person before going under and can ask whatever questions he wants. It’s scary but the odds are in his favor by a lot.
