Apparent UTI that’s affected my pregnancy test

My doctor told me that bacterial infections can cause pregnancy tests to have faint lines. I believed what he said, I showed him my faint line on my test and he seen it, he took another test I’m sure in the office and he said it was faint and I think he did another one for infections and he said that the ‘mild infection’ has caused my test to be faint.

As I’m researching, infections cannot affect pregnancy tests. So I’ve clearly been lied to!
