Any moms not celebrating Mother’s Day?

This is my first Mother’s Day and I’m already over it. I don’t know if I’ll be celebrating it in the future. I just wanted to see if there are any other mothers that don’t celebrate today?

I don't care about most "holidays". To me, it's another "holiday" born for the purpose of enterprise and commerce. I feel the same way about Father's day, Valentine's Day, and others.

I'm not into these types of holidays because of the amount of waste from flowers to balloons etc. We celebrate in a different way by just doing things at home, my husband and kids clean the whole house, they cook my favorite meal and bake me something sweet like mini pies (I don't like cake) or cookies and then they give me a few hours to myself in the living room. We close the day off with homemade cards (which I assume they make while hiding in their rooms the day of 😂😂) and hugs. Sometimes we'll skip the whole thing though, it's not a huge deal with us and for the most part I do feel appreciated by them so I don't really see this day as necessary. I feel terrible for those that can't even get one day of being celebrated though, that's super fucking shitty. You do so much for your families, the least they can do is show you some appreciation for a day out of the whole year. I hope that you can voice your feelings on the matter, find a resolution and get actual results and not just placating words. I'm so sorry guys, I hope things get better.

I don’t! Not how society expects us to celebrate it anyway. If I post anything, it’s a picture of me and my kids or something. Not of my mother or mother in law. We send them a card or do a phone call only. The we go do whatever we want as our own immediate family. My husband goes out of his way to make sure I’m honored as a mama everyday, so this day just isn’t a big deal. And we certainly won’t put on some sort of performance and say happy Mother’s Day or make a big deal out of people we don’t feel have mothered us well 🤷‍♀️

No because I don’t ever get a break like an actual break. I love my kids but it has been rough this year with trying to get a better income, searching for a place to live that’s not expensive as hell, constant therapy for my son and checking to see what is going on with my daughter. 
I get the concept that it’s supposed to show appreciation but nowadays it’s not even like that. It’s like every monetized holiday

I’m not NOT celebrating it. I’ve wished my mother, MIL, aunties, SILs and a few good friends a happy Mother’s Day. I just don’t personally care and don’t need a special display on a particular day to feel like I’m a mom. My husband slept in this morning and I woke up early to hang with my kid before I went to work. We aren’t going out. We are doing regular stuff around the house. I don’t need all the focus on me for a single day because someone said so 🥴

We were going to go to church, out for lunch, and visit my MIL. It’s 1pm and everyone is still in pajamas 🤷🏼‍♀️ my MIL had other plans (my husband didn’t call her until this morning 🤦🏼‍♀️), so we’re just sitting home. I’m working on grad school assignments with a headache. It’s just an ordinary Sunday and I don’t really care. It’s dreary weather and my kids gave me gifts on Friday (cards and raspberry bushes).

Not sure your reasoning for not wanting to celebrate it but personally I have given up hoping it would mean a day off of having responsibilities. I love my husband but he treats Mother’s Day like any other day. I learned quickly not to set expectations ☹️
