This new guy and I

I need some advice. A guy had joined my band as a keyboardist...I am the bassist. The band had a gig which went pretty well and we hung out afterwards to get to know each other a bit. We grew a liking for each other and after rehearsals we'd stay back to talk some more and end up kissing. He had even supported me throughout my pageantry journey and invited me to his friends and family cooking outings....all happening within a month. The love was there and i wondered when he would date me.

New years day came and he told me he had something to tell me and waited till the next day to tell me it even though I begged him to tell me straight away. He told me that he was having a child soon.

Now, from what he said, he had left a previous relationship and traveled here to find work...which he did and asked his girl at the time to come which she didnt want to then. He ended up flying back to his home island to see his new born. I do not understand how someone could make me fall in love with him and then hit me with this bombshell and after considering I decided to stick around with him because i was in love. He has even told his friends and family here that I am his woman but never asked me to be his girlfriend....you know...committment. He came back to me after being away (even told his babymother that he was seeing someone else) and seeing his child and we continued with our "relationship" but it wasn't until recently where his baby mother gave him an ultimatum where it was either his child or me. She is even considering to come here next year to live and work. So after much consideration my guy decides to break up with me and it was hard for the both of us. He said he wants his child. If the baby mother comes here she'd be living with him. He said he doesn't know what the future holds in terms of them reconnecting. He's a bit scared that thing between thwm might not work out. I do not understand why they'd have to reconnect to raise the child. He said he wants his child and me. It's all confusing.

Right now I guess I'm still waiting on his answer on whether he wants to be with me or not. We still continue as if we are in a relationship. I dont want to be fight over no guy and this feels like it. I dont feel claimed by him.
