Does love really find you when you're not looking

Is this saying true? Do you find love unexpectedly or will I just be single forever?

I read something on Facebook yesterday that said when you go looking for love, you've already got this expectation in your head and because you've gone looking for it, it's kinda forced. And when you're just living your best life, not looking, just doing your own thing.. You're more likely to find a true love with someone who naturally matches your energy. I don't know how true this is but it stuck in my mind

This was absolutely the case for me. When I looked, I kept forcing things that weren’t meant to work whereas when I was truly happy single and just went with the flow, that’s when I found the love of my life 🥰

I think so. I remember thinking that I’m single and ok with it and within that same month I reconnected with an old friend that ended up being my future husband. We’ve been married for 10 years and have three kids now.

That’s how it happened for me. I was 31 and dropping my best friend (J) off at her house after her bachelorette weekend and her husband to be’s (M) best friend (S) was there helping him with some electric work. J&M had been dating for 6 years at this point, but I had never met S, we were never at the same parties or he had left by the time I got there because I lived a few hours away, for whatever reason we just weren’t meant to meet before that. J and I talked about S a few times over the next month before her and M’s wedding. S and I started talking everyday after the wedding and we hung out for the 4th of July a few days after the wedding with my family, had our first date a few weeks after that, by the end of august we started dating, by mid October we moved in together and by the following March we were engaged. We got married that December and have been married now for 4 1/2 years and I am due with our second baby in august.

I feel like when you are looking for love it’s being forced. For me, everyone that I have been with it has happened when I wasn’t expecting it.

Personally yes, I have found love many times as a polyam person, and I've never tried to find a relationship except once in my life. I find them regardless. 
But everyone has a different experience, I think. Not everyone is able to find love easily or the type of love they actually want to experience. I think it depends what you are looking for and what you attract, which connections you are willing to explore. 
Because you fall in love way less often with high or specific standards. I think it has happened so many times for me because I never looked for anything specific until more recently, I'm always open to exploring connections organically and letting them be what they are. 
It's easier to find love if you do that, rather than want only a specific type of person for a specific type of relationship like getting married and having a family. 
I think it helps to focus on cultivating your character, but you also have to meet people and be willing to talk to find love. So I think it's a balance rather than just not thinking about love brings love.

I met my husband one week after I prayed to God that I surrendered my love life to Him, letting him make it happen for me instead of me trying to go looking for love.
