How many diapers do I need?

FTM with no knowledge of diaper changing. How many newborn size diapers do I actually need? When do they go into size 1 diapers?

My daughter was in newborn sizing for awhile. I’d start with one smaller box and pick up more as needed. You can always do target pickup, another grocery store pickup, Amazon, Walmart delivery, etc. There are so many options these days for not having to go inside anywhere to buy things that picking a few things up here and there won’t be too daunting of a task for post partum families.

My first could first in newborn stuff for a week. He was 8lbs. My 2nd never fit in newborn anything and was 9lbs.

My kid took forever to grow so we used probably 3 boxes of newborn? But assume 8-12 diapers a day on average. Also don’t buy too many because some brands don’t work for some babies so you’ll need to figure out what works best for yours. I’d buy a bag of 80 NB and see how it goes. Then one box of size 1.

My baby used newborn diapers for almost a whole month. But really just depends on how much you baby weighs when they’re born. Maybe get a few smaller things of newborn sized and focus on getting 1s, 2s, and 3s.

Never for me 😂 no newborn clothes or diapers. Hospital had to go looking for bigger size ones immediately for my third baby 10lb 15oz

Only one box for me. They grow so quickly (well mine did). I know others who have used a box and a half. 
You could purchase two and keep the receipt to return if unused?

You usually won’t use newborn diapers for very long. If you want to stock up, buy All sizes. A small bag/box of newborn, 1s, 2s and 3s. All babies are different when they size up but you’ll use all the sizes so just get a variety! Usually you can exchange them if you have too many of one size.

No idea. Every baby is different. (my son needed it for a week, before he was too large). 
To be honest, I don't reccomend biynd diapers before. You never know, what suits the baby and how much you really need etc. Test them out on the go, find what is ok with baby, and if you want ro pre buy something, buy larger sizes, chances are, that larger sizes last longer and when baby is older, they are not that sensitive to every brand.
