Anyone taken uti medication in early pregnancy?

I have a week til my period is due. I was just prescribed some UTI antibiotics, and am supposed to take this medication for 5 days. I asked dr if it’s safe to take if I were pregnant since period is due in 7 days and she said to just take a pregnancy test before taking the medication 😳 like what?? I probably can’t get an accurate result this soon.

She looked it up really fast and said it’s more of a concern later in pregnancy, she said the baby isn’t connected to my bloodstream for first 2 weeks. Is that right? Just her answer to take a test even tho she knew I was 7 days away from period made me nervous to trust, and with how fast she looked it up and told me that. This is not my usual dr by the way!

Has anyone taken it during their tww or early pregnancy ? Uti has gotten much better on its own already, so kind of hesitant if I should take the antibiotics or not at this stage considering the above
