So my son’s father belittled me, laughed at my struggles, mocked me because I stuttered (you know when you’re so upset about something and your words start to jumble? yeah that’s what happened), and LIED about mocking me to cover his ass. All that drama for him to tell me the next day that he wishes we could be together, tried holding my hand in public 3 times, and says how he knows he messed up and trying to fix it.

It's called the cycle of abuse. He is lowering you to have power and control in the relationship. Then super loving to keep you from leaving. Then youll have to constantly adjust to the rollercoaster, feel even more invested in this relationship than a typical one, and think youre just so in love and the 2 of you have an unexplainable connection. Then the abuse will worsen, and youre deep in an abusive relationship.
