Glucose Test at 14 weeks

I'm not diabetic, but I am overweight and have a family history of diabetes. My doctor saw some sugar in my urine sample at 10 weeks (4 weeks ago) and when I went in yesterday he dropped the bomb on me that I need to have a glucose test done in the next week. 💔 I've suspected for some time that I had insulin resistance since I've been unable to lose weight for years no matter what I do, but now I'm nervous for baby - and nervous that this will lead to a lifelong case of diabetes.

Any words of encouragement out there?
